We’ve worked with Mark over the last few years on multiple design projects. He is an exceptional designer with strong artistic creative talent as well as thoughtful and clear user interaction design philosophy. Every project he has worked on has greatly improved in design quality, appearance, and quality for our users.”

UNIVERSAL TRANSLATOR CASE STUDY WIP

DESIGN ITERATION
AUTOLAYOUT and CONSTRAINTS used to make responsive modals. However since this project was built in a set resolution for a full screen Python Windows application. So I set these variants to be of a fixed width.
For this project, I wanted to be very respectful to the 10 plus year legacy that the ARC logo came from. Austin Blanco, the president of ARC had this logo done by a friend of his. What I wanted to do was redesign the logo but with a cyberpunk and futuristic influence using bold fonts and a striking logo. What we have is an aperture and an array. Keeping that in mind I tried to make shapes that reinforces it.
I did some preliminary research using fronts from the web not even caring if they had a similar font that was considered a free Google Font.
FINAL FONT: Neo Fobia

REBRANDING PROJECT FOR ARC
BRANDING GUIDE DECK
Clearly it looks like ARC and Starlyte look similar. The point is because Starlyte is a startup I collaborated with Austin Blanco and Jacob Gerweth and ARC is an existing microscopy company that produces hardware components such as the Triggerscope. Now ARC and Starlyte has a similar identity that ties them together while being separate companies.
